Phase I includes 13 modules of online course work. All testing, quizzing, and grading is online, as is the majority of the curriculum.

Phase II incorporates a 60 hour Applied Science Lab, with hands-on instruction in a state-of-the-art laboratory facility at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.

Phase III involves completion of a Clinical Preceptor Program. This includes completion of 125 cases in a variety of specialties with a sponsoring surgeon or a Meridian approved Certified Assistant.

Earn College Credits:
Meridian Institute of Surgical Assisting is authorized by the Tennessee Higher Education commission (THEC) as a post-secondary institution. THEC has authorized Meridian Institute of Surgical Assisting for 27 semester credit hours leading to a certificate of completion. Meridian's faculty, instructors and staff are authorized by THEC in their respective positions.
